July has been a "sunny" month for mkm in the courts of Lesotho.

Tuesday, 26 July 2011 at 16:37.Well, friends, I did promise you a judgement on the matter between MKM group of companies and the Central Bank of Lesotho.

Rather unfortunately, I have not as yet been able to lay my hands on the full text of the judgment, instead, I have the order of both the Court of Appeal and of the High Court.

Court o Appeal Order: Before His Lordship MMRamodibedi J.A. On July 17, 2011. Having read papers of record and having heard Counsels for applicants and respondends, it is hereby ordered that:

1. The execution of the judgment of the court a quo delivered on the 18th May 2011 is hereby stayed pending the determination of the appeal in case No. C of A (CIV) 24/2011.

2. Cost shall be costs in the Appeal.

3. Applicants shall file their Heads of Argument in case no. C of A (CIV) 24/2011 on or before August 8, 2011.

4. Respondents are to file their Heads of Argument on or before the 19th August 2011.

5. Appeal will be heard in October 2011 session of the Court of Appeal.

6. Reasons for appeal will follow.

By order of court.

Registrar.

Now, the Liquidators, not satisfied with the order of the Court of Appeal, rushed to the lower court, in this case, the High Court.

Their prayer was that they should be allowed to continue collecting rent from some of MKM's estates, particularly, the former Agric Bank building along Kingsway Avenue, so says Mr Lebuajoang Thebeeakhale, the man behind the MKM group of companies..

On July 25, 2011, the learned Judge Monaphathi had this to say: Having read papers of record and having heard counsel for the applicants and counsel for the respondents, it is hereby ordered:

1. 1st respondent's application for an Interim Order pending Appeal to Court of Appeal is dismissed.

2. No order of costs.

The 1st respodent in this matter was: The liquidators of MKM Marketing. Star Lion Gold Coin Investment. Star Lion Group Ltd. Star Lion Insurance.

Applicants were: 'Mamotlatsi Raphuthing. Matsheliso Selongoana. Litsebe Mokhachane. Nthabiseng Molete. Anna Mokoma. 'Maseabata Murray.

I trust this piece of info will be of assistance to some you friends, regarding the latest on the marathon MKM litigations. God bless you!
